Responsible buying

I strive to ensure that all ingredients come from a sustainable source and I have selected partners and suppliers who share my ethics.

I have personally researched the impact of individual ingredients upon our bodies and the environment. I have not used any products believed to be carcinogenic, believed to cause skin irritation, or believed to be harmful to our environment. All of my products are free from detergents, SLS, alcohol, parabens, sorbates, phthalates, silicones, sulphates and artificial preservatives.

Although I initially sought to use only approved Fairtrade suppliers, I quickly discovered that although many of my suppliers source products ethically, sustainably, often organically, and by traditional methods providing a fair price to local farms or workers, the majority do not have official certification. Where this is the case I have supplied details of the origin and farming methods under Ingredients.

I am committed to undertaking ongoing research into sourcing ethical and sustainable products.  Concurrently I am expanding our selection of organic home grown herbs within our garden and our allotment. I will be incorporating these within our products as the year progresses.

Although many products are not marketed as organic, I am sourcing many organic products routinely and these will be highlighted within the ingredients lists of the relevant items. I am in the process of seeking official Soil Association approval to certify my organic products.
